Twenty Years and Counting
The 2025 season marks the twentieth year of the Kershaw County Farmers Market!
In November of 2004, newly elected SC State Representative Laurie Funderburk was invited to make comments at the annual Farm to City Dinner. In her remarks she challenged the community to create and support a Farmers Market. After realizing the amount of interest in the community, a board was established and the first Kershaw County Farmers Market was held in the Spring of 2005 in the lot of First Community Bank.

We'd like to sincerely thank Laurie Funderburk, Kershaw County Clemson Extension agent Andy Rollins, Alan Lattanzi, the Willouhby's, and Todd Buddin from First Community Bank for their time, energy, and countless hours of support in the creation and nurturing of the KCFM in those formative years.

Thank You, also, to all of the farmers, vendors, customers, and subsequent board members who have given your time and talents to the Kershaw County Farmers Market for the past 20 years. You're a great testament to the strength of community we have here in Kershaw County. The next 20 will be even better.
